Matthew A. Lechowicz, President, CEO
Matt was a founding member of Tech-Assist in 1986 and assumed the position of President and CEO in 1989. His professional career spans over 25 years of involvement with plant engineering and computer systems software development.
After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering in 1980, he began his career as an Associate Nuclear Engineer with Bechtel Power Corporation where he was involved in the design and construction of nuclear power plants both in the U.S. and abroad.
As president of Tech-Assist, Matt is responsible for overseeing the company's overall strategic planning, product development, sales and marketing efforts.
Matt is the author of several professional industry publications, a registered professional nuclear engineer, a member of the American Nuclear Society, Tau Beta Pi, Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and a recipient of the Frederick County Entrepreneur Council's Small Business Award.
Patrick G. Gex, Vice President
Patrick was a founding member of Tech-Assist in 1986. He has over 25 years of experience in the power plant engineering and computer industries.
Patrick holds an Engineering degree in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Nancy, France and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. In1981, Patrick joined Bechtel Power Corporation where he held a range of positions such as Safety Analysis Engineer and Planning and Control Engineer.
Patrick's primary role with Tech-Assist is the oversight and implementation of the Company's software quality assurance program. He also provides input into the development and support of the Company's commercial software applications.
Scott A. Ewine, Application Development Manager
Scott is the Application Development Manager for Tech-Assist responsible for managing the development and maintenance of the Company's commercial software applications.
Scott received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University with an emphasis in Power Plant Design. He worked as an Engineer in the Operations Department of Virginia Power's North Anna Station prior to joining Tech-Assist in 1991.
Starting at Tech-Assist as an associate programmer, his career has progressed through a number of positions with an increasing scope of responsibility and opportunity. In addition to leading the development of the company's commercial software applications he also directs the development of interfaces to third party software applications.
Cynthia L. Harris, Office Manager and Marketing Assistant
Cindy is responsible for Tech-Assist's office management and bookkeeping activities. Cindy also coordinates the marketing and administrative activities for the corporate training programs and assists in the Company's marketing and sales efforts.
Cindy received her A.A. Degree in Executive Office Technology from Frederick Community College and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Frederick County. Cindy has been with Tech-Assist since 1993.
Garry M. Heier, Marketing Developer
Garry is responsible for creating Tech-Assist's print and web-based marketing programs. He develops product brochures and various marketing collateral. As web designer, he provides HTML and Flash authorship and web site design, content, strategy, and scripting techniques.
Garry also supports the application development group in presentation and graphics. He is an accomplished instructor, certified as Microsoft MCSE, Novell CNE, and holds CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications.
William H. House II, Senior Application Developer
Bill is lead developer of the web-based version of eSOMS. He has forty years of experience in power station operations, design and software engineering including the commissioning crew of a nuclear attack submarine for the U. S. Navy, engineering for two nuclear stations at Virginia Power, and twenty-five years at Bechtel. While at Bechtel, he performed nuclear analysis and licensing tasks for the TMI recovery project and the Sizewell 'B' nuclear project before beginning a second career in software development. He was involved in the development of CAD and engineering support software for nineteen years.
He is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy and holds Master's degrees in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Hood College, and Mount Saint Mary's College, respectively. He is a member of ASME and ANS. Bill has been with Tech-Assist since 2004.
Eugene G. Kuhn, Service Technician
Jim is a Service Technician for Tech-Assist and is responsible for custom builds of network servers and workstations and network systems integration services. Jim's services are performed in-house as well as on-site to accommodate our clients' needs.
Jim has over 25 years in the computer hardware and services field and started configuring IBM PC's for Frederick Computer Products back in 1983. He was the Systems Integrations Department Manager before coming to Tech-Assist in 1996. Jim has completed training with Compaq and IBM Computers and has an A+ Certification. He has also completed Microsoft MCSE and Novell training courses.
William J. Moseley, Software Systems Specialist
Bill is a Software Systems Specialist with Tech-Assist and is responsible for providing software installation, training, and consulting services for the company's commercial software applications. His primary responsibility is to support the U. S. Navy's fleet-wide implementation of eSOMS.
Bill holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to joining Tech-Assist, Bill held a variety of plant management and supervisory roles with BP Solar and Corning where he was responsible for all functional areas necessary for product manufacture, plant operations, and business interactions.
Prior to that, Bill served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where he was an Engineering department officer on both conventional and nuclear powered warships. He was responsible for the operation, maintenance, and administration of reactor, electrical, and mechanical systems; including the leadership of associated officer and enlisted personnel, as well as qualifying as a Nuclear Engineer Officer by the United States Department of Energy.
Robert P. Regnell, Senior Application Developer
Bob is a Senior Application Developer for Tech-Assist and is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's commercial software applications. Bob's expertise is in the area of mobile computing application design and deployment.
Prior to joining Tech-Assist in 1999, Bob was a Staff Sergeant in the Army with twelve years experience in microwave radio and ancillary equipment maintenance for Army communications in South Korea and Germany. He was also responsible for database maintenance, computer programming and maintenance at Fort Detrick and Fort Ritchie in Maryland.
Glenn D. Shuster, Technical Service Manager
Glenn is the Technical Services Manager for Tech-Assist responsible for managing the Company's customer training and technical support functions.
Glenn has a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Maryland, and holds several industry certifications including Certified Netware Engineer, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, and Network+ Certification.
Prior to joining Tech-Assist in 1994, Glenn spent 14 years with General Physics starting as an Associate Engineer and advancing to Manager of Engineering Services. Glenn is also responsible for network design for both clients and the Company's internal functions and oversees the eSOMS Certified System Engineer (eSCSE) training program.
