Tech-Assist has an extensive background in process and manufacturing industry software systems architecture and design.

Tech-Assist was formed as a Maryland corporation on March 30, 1986. Two of the original founders continue as principals of the company today:

  • Matthew A. Lechowicz (President and CEO)
  • Patrick G. Gex (Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer)

Both founders are degreed engineers with an extensive background in power plant design, construction and operation and software systems architecture and design.

Beginning in 1986 as engineering and information technology consultants to the nuclear power industry, the founders recognized a need for computerization in the area of plant operations management. During the first few years of the Company's formation, custom software products were developed which would serve as the basis for its commercial product offerings.

By 1996 the Company had established a strong and growing presence in the nuclear and fossil electric power industry with over 50 plant sites using its software products to manage plant operations and maintenance activities. It was at this time that the U.S. Navy began a pilot of the Company's software on the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower. Over the following three years the project was expanded to the rest of the carrier fleet (12 carriers). In 2000, the U.S. Navy embarked on a project to expand the Company's software to the full fleet of over 265 ships and land activities, a project which continues to this day.

Over a twenty-year period, the Company has continued to innovate its product and service offerings. As a result, it has gained a dominant position in the electric power industry; particularly the commercial U.S. nuclear power industry and the U.S. Navy. The Company is actively expanding it's success to the chemical and petrochemical industries.

In helping its clients achieve success, the Company has achieved consistent growth and earnings success over its twenty years of operation.
